We have seen dozens of US attempts up close. The mistakes recur with embarrassing precision. Here they are, so that you need not repeat them.
First mistake: going to market without numbers. You don't know who buys, at what price and from whom, and the first year goes into learning what the data would have shown in the first week. Second mistake: the price offer is made in European logic, factory price and let the buyer calculate the rest themselves. Third mistake: response speed. The Estonian manufacturer answers an email in three days and wonders why the American went cold in the meantime.
All three are attitude mistakes, not capability ones, and all three are fixable in a week.
Fourth mistake: lack of consistency. Two emails, one trade fair, and if it did not work out immediately, the conclusion is that the USA does not work. In reality the US sales cycle is three to nine months and the one who keeps the rhythm wins. Fifth mistake: all eggs in one basket. One big deal that takes six months of work, and if it falls through, it's zero. A portfolio of ten average targets is always better than one dream.
None of these mistakes is fatal if it is recognized in time.
Our service is largely built against these five mistakes: data before decisions, pricing in DDP logic, fast and consistent communication on your behalf, and a diversified target portfolio. If you recognize yourself in one of the mistakes, that is good news, because now it is visible and fixable.
The first consultation is free: together we'll see who in the US already buys your product and how to reach them.
