The home-sauna boom has not faded in the US. Customs data shows a growing flow in which Estonian producers hold a special position.
Our database holds dozens of US companies that import saunas, sauna components and thermally modified wood from Northern Europe. Among them are specialised sauna retailers, spa-solution providers and construction companies. Orders recur regularly, which points to steady end demand rather than a fad.
Finnish producers are strong on the market, but not untouchable. Several US buyers already order from several countries in parallel, and it is precisely such multi-supplier buyers who are the most realistic entry point for a new bidder.
The strength of the Estonian sauna producer is a combination: a Nordic brand, craftsmanship quality and a price that usually stays below the Finnish one. In addition, expertise in thermally modified wood is world-class in Estonia.
The requirements are manageable: ISPM-15 packaging, a proper English-language installation manual and, for electrical components, UL certification. None of them is insurmountable, but all must be sorted out before the first delivery.
