Quality control before loading: the last moment to catch mistakes

Once the container is at sea, every mistake is six weeks and thousands of dollars away. A pre-loading check is the cheapest insurance.

Why a separate check

Production's own quality control catches manufacturing defects, but export-delivery mistakes are of a different kind: wrong quantity, mixed-up items, incomplete labeling, forgotten documents, condensation-prone packaging. These usually surface only at the US warehouse, where fixing is expensive and the reputational damage is immediate.

A separate pre-loading control protocol, even one page long, catches most of these.

The minimum protocol

Before closing the container: quantities matched to the order item by item, checking marking and ISPM stamps on the pallets, photos of every loading stage, recording the seal number, and cross-checking the shipping documents. All together half an hour, which also documents your diligence in case of disputes.

Photos are an underrated tool: loading pictures have resolved more US disputes than any contract.
